Engineers Week is a week-long programme of nationwide events celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. The week aims to create a positive awareness and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession to people of all ages, especially students and their teachers and parents.
Engineers Week usually takes place in February. For details visit www.engineersweek.ie.
Engineers Week is an opportunity for students to learn more about engineering, have fun and win prizes. There are several ways to get involved.
Book an event:
See what organisations are hosting events in your local area. Events are added to the Engineers Week website from November to mid February.
Host a school event
All schools are invited to host Engineers Week activities in their own school.
If your school holds an activity, let the STEPS team know what it is by registering it as an event on www.engineersweek.ie.
All schools that register an event will be placed into a prize draw to win a prize for the school. To get inspiration, visit the Engineers Week website for activity ideas.
Invite an engineer to visit
STEPS has a database of trained volunteers who visit schools nationwide, both primary and post primary. Register your school via the new SmartSTEPS system
, then log in to request a visit.
