Biomedical Engineer

Biomedical engineering has a huge impact on the world we live in. Oh, sorry! I’m Mark, by the way. Hi there!

Biomedical engineers use their training to design systems to help prevent, diagnose and treat all types of diseases, injuries and disabilities! We don’t just work with other engineers though! We’re always working with doctors and nurses to get their feedback on what we design and build so we can constantly improve on it, helping them save lives.

It was biomedical engineers who designed the first artificial pace makers, hips and kidneys. We also work at designing prosthetic limbs and we’re always looking at ways we can improve medical equipment, making it more precise, and better at diagnosing whatever may be wrong with a person.
