Volunteer Agreement

This Volunteer Agreement demonstrates how we value our volunteers. We want to assure you that we appreciate your contribution to our organisation. We are dedicated to ensuring that you have a quality volunteer experience which is both productive and rewarding.

STEPS expects you to:

  • Abide by STEPS policies and procedures e.g. volunteer policy, volunteer handbook, child protection policy statement etc.
  • That you will volunteer at the times agreed or inform us promptly if this is not possible
  • To fulfil role as outlined in volunteer role description
  • To provide referees as agreed who may be contacted, and to agree to a Garda vetting check being carried out where necessary
  • Not knowingly place yourself in a situation where you are alone with a minor
  • Not take photos/videos of minors unless their teacher/parent has completed a consent form
  • Use STEPS presentation materials where possible and reference our website’s resources

STEPS commits to the following:

  • To provide adequate information and training
  • To provide you with the name of someone who will provide support
  • To treat volunteers with respect
  • To cover volunteers with STEPS insurance
  • To be receptive to any comments and feedback
  • To value and recognise our volunteers as a significant resource

Note this agreement is in honour only and is not intened to be a legally binding contract of employment.
