Request a session

We've held workshops all over Ireland already and we will run sessions wherever there is demand -- in companies or local venues – so get in touch now to register your interest or request a workshop in your area.

The sessions aim to provide support to our volunteer engineers, who are needed to go out to local schools to talk to students about what it's like to be an engineer. Some 900 schools have already registered for a visit, and we need hundreds of volunteers to meet the demand.

Why attend?

The sessions are an opportunity for new and existing volunteers to find out more about the STEPS volunteer programme, meet your peers, and share communication tips before going into the classroom.

It's also a chance to find out about the many supports we offer our volunteers – from our school presentation pack to acting as a liaison between volunteer and school. You can even sign up to do a school visit on the spot.

In the sessions held to date, participants told us they enjoyed meeting each other, learning more about the STEPS programme, and sharing ideas and tips for communicating with students. There was also fun to be had with some make & do activities suitable for primary schools.

3. Support sessions

The sessions held regionally are a chance for STEPS volunteers to come together informally to obtain tips, discuss what is and isn’t working and to network together.
