Engineering Your Future



All programmes on offer give students the chance to experience some of the various disciplines of engineering; helping students to gain real life, hands-on experience and to make an informed future career choice.

The three, four and five-day experiences will all include a combination of:

·       Hands-on activities

·       Group projects

·       Campus and/or site visits

·       Lectures and presentations

·       Fun challenges

Here's a taste of what’s on offer in each programme:

Industry

ESB

The ESB Engineering Your Future programme is an industry experience; which offers students the opportunity to

  • Learn about the disciplines & technologies making up the exciting world of engineering
  • Learn about the wide variety of engineering disciplines that are active across ESB
  • Visit key ESB locations and take part in practical exercises
  • Meet a variety of engineers at work
  • Hear from recent graduates about their careers

Third Level

The third level version follows the same format as the industry version, but focuses on the student experience by giving participants a taste of each discipline on offer at the chosen college. There will be company tours arranged during the programme as well as practical workshops and engineering talks.

Cork Institute of Technology (CIT): Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering              

Dublin City University (DCU): Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Electrical Engineering. 

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT): (New for 2020) Mechanical, Civil and Electronic Engineering.                                      

Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT): Software & Electronics, Biomedical, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Institute of Technology Carlow (IT Carlow): Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Aeronautical Engineering.

Institute of Technology Sligo (IT Sligo):   Civil, Construction, Mechanical, Computing and Mechatronics Engineering.              

Institute of Technology Tralee (IT Tralee): Agricultural, Mechanical, Civil & Construction and Mechatronics

Maynooth University:  Electronic Engineering and Robotics.

NUI Galway (NUIG):                                                           

TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus:  Computer Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering. 

TU Dublin – City Campus : Electrical & Electronic, Computer, Mechanical & Manufacturing, Structural and Civil Engineering

TU Dublin -Tallaght Campus:  Software, Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. 

University College Cork (UCC): Civil, Structural &Environmental; Process & Chemical: Electrical & Electronic and Energy Engineering                                

University College Dublin (UCD): Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical &Electronic Engineering and Structural Engineering

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT):  Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing, Electronic and Computer Engineering
