Welcome to the volunteer area of the STEPS volunteer programme.
This section contains details of policies, current volunteering opportunities and training information.

It's important to remember that there is support available to you as a volunteer. Please get involved and contact us with any queries.

Volunteer induction

The Volunteer Induction is our opportunity to officially welcome you to the STEPS programme. STEPS seeks to ensure all volunteers have the support necessary to equip them for their role.

Volunteer policy

Our volunteer policy and volunteer handbook are important documents. Please take the time to read both in advance of volunteering.

Volunteer resources

There are many resources available including Interactive presentations which you can customise and use in the classroom. Both the primary and post primary presentations and other resources are available to download.

A number of activities are available on the Engineers Week website which you can do in the classroom with students http://www.engineersweek.ie/get-involved/event-organisers/activities/

SmartSTEPS - Volunteer opportunities

STEPS, in partnership with Science Foundation Ireland, has launched a new cloud based volunteer system called SmartSTEPS.
The new SmartSTEPS system enables more efficient and faster school visit matching. As a volunteer you can log in online to view all STEPS volunteering opportunities. As a leading partner in the national Smart Futures programme STEPS encourage volunteers to go out to schools. Each registered volunteer has been emailed directly with a login to the system.

Investing in Volunteers

To publicly demonstrate our commitment to volunteering, STEPS has signed up to work towards and be assessed against a quality standard called Investing in Volunteers.
